NARS Skin Cream

I've always been a Clinique girl. I've used Clinique now for years and always believed that the 3 step program would be my twice daily routine until the end of time. That is, until I tried NARS Potent EFA Cream. It's amazing!

It retails for $90, but the high price tag is worth it. This cream is so thick and full of moisture. It's perfect for dry skin after this cold winter.

I haven't officially switched over from Clinique in its entirety yet, but I will say; when comparing the Potent EFA cream with Clinique's Moisture Surge, the winner is without question NARS.

Kiehl's Lip Balm

I know this isn't the cutest thing to be sharing with all of you, but I have to confess... I have the worst chapped lips of everyone I know, year after year.

I've tried it all; Burts Bees, Blistex and Labello, but no matter what I do, I always end up with cracked lips. Until now...

Kiehl's Lip Balm is the answer to my dry lip's prayers. I picked mine up at Holt Renfrew for $8.50 and my lips have been super soft ever since.

This isn't a gloss and it's not scented, so this is one beauty trick you can share with the man in your life too.

Plus, at under $10 a pop, Kiehl's Lip Balm is officially the stocking stuffer of the season. That is, of course, assuming you can't spring the half a million for this...

Saturday With Chanel

I was strolling around Pacific Centre, sipping on an eggnog latte from Starbucks this Saturday, when I wandered into the Bay. While admiring the Love by Moschino bags, I was approached by one of the darlings from the Chanel makeup boutique. She asked me if I was interested in having my makeup done, and since I had a lazy morning planed anyway, I agreed.

She did a fun smokey eye for me, which I loved, but it's definitely not my usual everyday look. I ended up buying the Stylo Yeux Long Lasting Eye Liner.

It's beyond amazing. The thing I love most about this eyeliner is that it's smudge proof. That means no black marks around the tops of your eyelids if you happen to accidentally open your eyes a little too wide. (Guilty)

Stop by the Bay and talk to the ladies at Chanel about some of their upcoming holiday events. Mini facials, makeovers and champagne; sounds like the perfect combination!

Tip Toeing Into Spring...?

Ok that's optimistic given that winter hasn't even officially begun, but I just can't stop thinking about Chanel's Spring 2012 nail polish colours.

Appropriately titled April, May and June, these colours hit the shelves in January and are already on my wish list. I'm particularly fond of June, though it's hard to pick a favourite.

May reminds me of my recent obsession, OPI's Pinking of You.

Which one are you coveting?

My New Fav Colour

Now that it finally feels like summer around here, it's time for a fun new nail polish.

I am obsessing over OPI's "Pinking of you".

I'm rocking this colour on my toes as I type and every time I look down, I smile.

The pink shade is totally understated and soft, so it's not overkill to wear it on your finger AND toe nails at the same time. It's also not going to make you put your hands in your pockets every time you boss comes around.

That's right ladies, we have found the perfect balance between professional and trendy

Believe it or not, fall is just around the corner. Before you know it we'll all be trading in our jean shorts, flowy tanks and leather gladiator sandals for skinny jeans and cardi's.

Drink in the summer digs while you still can!

The Smell of 1000 Flowers is in the air

The one thing that almost every girl will have no trouble splurging on is perfume. Musks, florals, sweet scents and fruity ones too, the way you smell is part of your identity.

Tonight at Lark Clothing you have the rare opportunity to meet a renowned perfumer. Jessica Buchanan will be speaking about the inspiration behind her latest fragrance, 1000 Flowers, which is being launched tonight at the shop.

Complimentary gin and tonics will be served along with a 10% discount off everything in store, including sale items.

This could get dangerous, my Visa better watch out!

Moroccan Oil

It's a hard thing to do; complaining about having thick and full hair. I'm already cringing just reading that opening sentence, but the truth is my thick hair takes WAY too long to wash, blow dry and style. So much so that I have limited the amount of times my tresses are lathered each week. My freshly washed hair never sets the way I want it to. It's impossible to style, and to make a long story short, I end up looking like I've been electrocuted every time.

Trust me when I say I've used every product on the market. Pomade was my go-to for the longest time, but it made my hair feel sticky. Just when I was beginning to accept the fact that I was either going to endure very dirty or very frizzy hair for the rest of my life, I was introduced to Moroccan Oil.

Moroccan Oil is primarily made up of Argan oil which is an oil produced from the kernel of the Argan tree. Not only does this miracle oil deal with my frizz problem, but it also strengthens my hair, making it softer and feel like silk (bonus; it smells phenomenal). It's completely natural, never tested on animals and they use recycled materials in the packaging; this is one indulgence you can feel good about.

Black's Not Back

I have been pleasantly surprised this season by the abolishment of black nail polish. For the last few years black nail polish was dominating the finger tips of fashionistas everywhere, and though we're all guilty of going Goth at some point, let's be honest; this is Avril Lavigne's signature look. Avril Lavigne. When would we ever take fashion tips from a girl who dresses like a 15 year old "Sk8r Boi"? I'll admit, now that she's toting around Brody Jenner (possibly the best accessory she's ever owned) Avril has become more appealing to me, but I digress...

Nail polish trends this fall/winter have been putting a smile on my face. I recently noticed one of my besties wearing the perfect grey polish. I had to ask her where it was from. Expecting OPI or something even more pricey, I was shocked that it was from American Apparel. Love it!

"Mouse" By American Apparel $6

Another color that I'm digging is this khaki-green shade by Essie. I know, I know, it looks a lot like grey in the picture, but trust me, this definitely has a green tint in person. Not to mention, could the name be any cuter?

"Sew Psyched" By Essie

Finally, the one color that I will wear year round is a classic red. My absolute favorite is Lancome's No. 104. I first bought this polish two years ago and keep going back for more. Red, well kept nails look great on everyone. Just remember to keep the nails short when you're going bold. This isn't the early 90's ladies. Scale back.

Fall hair

Today seems to be a bit cooler than it has been here in Vancouver these last few days, which makes it the perfect time to start talking about Fall looks.

Last night I was reading the September issue of Lou Lou Magazine, and a big hair trend I noticed is the fish bone braid. I have very long hair, so I'm always on the search for a new way to tie it back. The side braid was my favorite look this summer, but it was getting tired. The fish bone is a fun new twist on the braid, and so easy to pull off. For directions, click here.

Hot Days and Sticky Skin

Now that the summer heat is full force, so is the sweaty, oily skin. I have always been a little bit OCD when it comes to washing my face, but with this hot and sticky weather, I've kicked it into over drive! My absolute favorite line of skin care products is, without a doubt, Clinique.

The Clinique 3-Step Skin Care System has been my (twice daily) routine for a number of years now, and I can honestly say it keeps my summer breakouts at bay. If you haven't already tried it, head over to Sears or The Bay and ask the Clinique rep for some samples and get ready for happy, glowing skin!
